When we let go of our own way of thinking and begin to think more like Christ, we will see our thoughts elevated above the "worldly" things and become focused on the "heavenly".
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. - Isaiah 55:7-9
What's On Your Mind? Higher Thoughts. We started this week talking about how God saw man on the earth and how his thoughts were always evil. So then the question we end with this week is, how do we change our thoughts to be inline with God?
We change our thoughts by changing our ways. When we forsake any ways that make us think and then act in an evil way, we can then have the mind of God. See God's thoughts are greater than ours. His thoughts are not our thoughts, God does not think like we do. God does not think selfishly, or evil, or thoughts of a liar. These are not thoughts that God has.
So if we want to be in line with his thoughts, we must have a willing mind to release our way of thinking and ask God to give us a mind of God. He will then teach us how to think higher thoughts. We will no longer want to dwell on thoughts that are selfish. We will no longer want to dwell on things that are evil, or unrighteous. We will not want to think of things of a liar or cheater. Why? Because we have been changed. Our minds have been transformed to be more "Christ Like". That is what a Christian is, a person that is like Christ and forever becoming more like him.
Today, Lord we say thank you for helping us to have higher thoughts. Help us from this day forward to no longer have an evil mind, or selfish mind but to have the mind of Christ. Help us to think on what is good, and lovely and of good report.
