It does not matter how beautiful the building is, if God's presence is not there it is an empty shell. Do we want our lives to be beautiful edifices on the outside, but empty shells without God's Spirit? Lord do not let it be so, fill us with your presence so that our temples can be a place where you dwell.
But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code. - Romans 7:6
Worship is...our way of finding God's plan for our life through His Spirit.
Thank you Lord that we no longer have to be bound to sin. We are free to love you, to live for you and to worship you. Thank you for giving us your Spirit. He comes to guide us, equip us, give us your gifts. He comes to sanctify us, help us pray and to bring us to Jesus.
Thank you for the Holy Spirit because he gives us power and authority to be your children. He gives us your word and he reveals what it means. He renews us, strengthen us, and encourages us. He helps us when we are weak and he gives us the knowledge and understanding of you.
Lord we are so thankful for all that you have given us through your Son and the access through your Holy Spirit. Today help us to seek a deeper time of worship with you. Lord today if we are not strong in you, we can come and ask you for the power and authority through your Spirit. Help us to remember these words, "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." (Acts. 1:8)
When we go to worship this week, help us to come with a mind of true worship. Help us to remove all barriers that would keep us from worshipping you freely. We worship you because you are worthy of all our worship.
Why do we worship? Worship is...why we were born, we were made to worship you.
